Statement from Ian Flay – Managing Director
As the country reels from the devastating impact Covid-19 has inflicted on individuals, communities and businesses alike, I wanted to reassure you that we here at Ferndown Commercials continue to be strongly committed to supporting you, our customers and local community during this time. This will hopefully provide some peace of mind that your vehicles will remain on the road enabling your business to continue to function.
The work we do has been classified as essential and due to this we will continue to remain open during this pandemic whilst firmly adhering to the government guidelines to ensure our staff remain safe which is of paramount importance.
We have a stringent virus contamination prevention plan to prohibit the spread of covid-19 within our workplace. Wherever possible, our staff are working from home for the foreseeable future and we have cancelled all business travel and face-to-face meetings. We have adopted rigorous cleansing and hygiene practices across our company and social distancing methods have become integral to our work practices. In addition to this we are keeping updated regularly with the latest government bulletins to ensure we are doing everything possible to keep our staff and customers safe.
Many of our customers are frontline workers including the Ambulance Service, the Police and the Council so we are doing all we can to ensure their vehicles remain on the road to enable them to keep functioning and supporting the community.
Other key customers of ours include the farming community who are producing our food, food delivery companies delivering the food, utility companies delivering power and water, telecommunications companies who are keeping us connected and the list goes on.
In alignment with our manufacturer, International Motors, we echo their commitment to ‘Keeping Britain Working’ during these unprecedented times.
Our pledge is that:
- We will Keep Britain Working by ensuring your commercial vehicle is maintained and repaired when required, as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.
- We will Keep Britain Working by continuing to supply vehicles to those services and people where mobility is essential.
- We will Keep Britain Working by loaning out our demonstrator vehicles free of charge to those businesses in our community that need to get food and medicine to people who are most in need and hardest to reach.
We take the responsibilities expressed above very seriously, so that our customers are reassured knowing that we will continue to have all of their commercial vehicle needs covered during this time.
These are unprecedented times. We don’t know what will happen tomorrow, let alone next week but rest assured our Business Continuity Plans are built to ensure that regardless of the upheaval we are all likely to face, we have the systems and supply chain in place to drive through these challenges. Therefore, we can and will maintain a continuity of service that reflects our reputation for unrelenting support and customer care.
I’d like to take this opportunity to thank you for your professionalism, your continued loyalty to Ferndown Commercials and your commitment to remain united against Covid-19.
We will beat this – together.
